Nava Thakuria, General Secretary of Guwahati Press Club handed over the cheque to Raju in presence of Nurul Islam Laskar, Project Head, ANREM; Haidor Hussain Bora, Media incharge, Ajmal Foundation; and a host of media and PR practitioners of the city.

It may be mentioned that Ajmal Foundation is the only NGO of Assam which has a very clear cut policy to help artistes and media persons in their times of need. The management of Ajmal Foundation plan to raise the corpus to Rs one crore in the very near future. Since inception and till date, 49 artistes and journalists have been extended financial help to the aggregate tune of Rs 12 lakh under AMWS.
