July was the hottest month in history, setting a new and troubling record as the planet continues to warm due to the burning of fossil fuels. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, “this was also the all-time highest monthly temperature in the 1880-2015 record.”

So the question arises time and over again- Has the advent and creation of new technology surpassed all the natural values that our Mother Earth provides or is it just the increasing carelessness and ignorance of people like us who have been habituated to living life on the go depending on surrounding surreal resources.

There are thousands of organizations -local, national and international spread worldwide that create awareness and work around for the sake of our degrading planet and its limited resources. But as the number of these organizations and individuals start to grow on a daily basis, it is quite contrary that the planet is suffering much more than ever before as calculated in recent studies.

The topic of Global Warming has been a heated issue since the past decades but now other major factors have also been increasing at an alarming rate.  According to research experts, Global Warming may eat up $200 billion crops globally by 2050. Also it has led to a tremendous increase in sea levels around the world. Sea levels could rise at least six metres or around 20 feet above current levels if current climate trends continue, says a study analyzing three decades of research on the historic effects of melting polar ice sheets.

In its monthly global climate report released online on Thursday NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) also cited record high temperatures for the Earth’s oceans. This not only puts risk on the whole flora and fauna species but also the larger picture of the ecosystem and its running mechanism at a dangerous stake.
