Dakhin Pub Guwahati Bhanu Jayanti Samaroh Samity has recently organised two days program in celebration of Nepali Language Recognition Day alongside its Golden Jubilee Celebrations. The organising committee organised a panel discussion on multi-language literature on the occasion of Nepali Bhasa Manyata Divas (Nepali Language Recognition Day) presided over by Dr. Khagen Sarma. The first day also witnessed an enthusiastic participation of both the new and the old poets in the poem recitation segment. Certain games and other sports activities were also organised simultaneously to uplift the sporting spirit of the children.
On its next day, an open session was scheduled where Honourable Minister (Govt. of Assam) Nandita Garlosa, Devraj Upadhyay, IPS, IGP (CID), Kishore Upadhyay, Chairman, AIDC, Ashoke Bhattarai, Vice-President, Bharatiya Janata Party, and other dignitaries were present.
Starting her speech with how close she had been with the Gorkhas all along her journey, Nandita Garlosa said that the Gorkhas are the most honest and enterprising community that she has come across. She further added that there are several schemes for dairy farming and she will be always around to help in whatever capacity she could as a minister in the Govt. of Assam.
President of Dakhin Pub Guwahati Bhanu Jayanti Samaroh Samity, Lakshmi Subedi spearheaded this large congregation of litterateurs, social activists, bureaucrats, politicians, local and international artists and accomplished this much-awaited Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Dakhin Pub Guwahati Bhanu Jayanti Samaroh Samity with the support of her dedicated and spirited team. She said, “One of the possible ways to become a stronger, wiser and progressive community is to try to eliminate some social stigmas like casteism which still exists in our communities in different forms”.
On the second day the program ended with a power-packed cultural evening where international artist Tika Parsain, mimicry artist Chandan Lama and Surekha Chetry, the outstanding stage performer moved the people present on the occasion like never before. Several local dance troupes and solo performances kept the onlookers hooked with their amazing display of colourful cultural mix showing explicitly how Gorkhas believe in having a deep bonhomie with all the communities and showing profound respect and love for the rich culture that other communities have.
Dakhin Pub Guwahati Bhanu Jayanti Samaroh Samity had been celebrating its Golden Jubilee Celebrations since a month. On 13th July, 2022 on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Aadi Kavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, the Samaroh Samity organised a splendid cultural rally on the streets of Guwahati showcasing rich Gorkhali/ Nepali Culture.
Formed on 1972, Dakhin Pub Guwahati Bhanu Jayanti Samaroh Samity stepped into its 51st year this year. Since its inception, Dakhin Pub Guwahati Bhanu Jayanti Samaroh Samity had been organising Bhanu Jayanti every year and had been giving platforms to writers and other artists to give vent to their artistic temperaments. Samity’s love and dedication towards rich Nepali literature and other art forms have not only inspired Nepali language-speaking Gorkhas of Dakhin Pub Guwahati but also of other areas of the entire Guwahati city and other adjoining districts of Assam.
