Nanda K Dewan bags the prestigious International Journalism Award

Development Journalist Nanda K Dewan wins Community Development and Global Peace Journalism 7th International Award.

A veteran journalist who hails from Assam have made us proud with his tremendous contribution in the Community Development Journalism along with his years of service in this area. This is the 7th edition of the International Award organized by the American Nepal Press Club in association with the National Press Club, Nepal.


Held in Kathmandu, Nepal, the award was presented by the Cabinet Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Rights, Rajendra Prasad Shrestha.


Voted as ‘Top 10 Gorkhas’ of Assam by ‘Sapariwar’, previously adjudged with Honorary Associate Membership of Gauhati Press Club and also awarded with the ‘National Emerging Journalist 2009’, Mr Dewan have surely earned the accolade “master.”

Mr. Dewan says that Community Development Journalism emerges as an evolution of digital media raising communities’ concerns, documenting developments. He added that Community Development Journalism yields results only after continuous coverage and rolling reporting over the time so that public opinion is generated and authorities acts on the matter.
For the first time after 21 years in the history of NPC in association with ANPC, Nanda K Dewan bagged this award from NE India.
Nanda Kirati Dewan, graduated in Mass Communication and Journalism, have worked in many reputed media houses like Darjeeling Times.com, ABN Network Television, News Time Assam, Hamro Prajashakti since 15 years and continue to serve his duty in the field of Community Development Journalism.
