Kalinga University opens new vistas to its students

An awe-inspiring induction for the new batch 2018-19 was organized by Kalinga University, Raipur recently. The new academic session for the students of B.Sc. (Biotech) and Applied Sciences started with methodically graceful ceremony amidst its green serene campus of 35 acress warming with the exquisiteness of beautiful flowers all around.

The enthusiastic new students were overwhelmed when they received a magnificent welcome by senior students and staff members of Kalinga family. The serene environment of the University was rumbled with the beats of Dhol and the welcome smiles by the seniors when the freshers entered inside the campus. The mesmerizing petal showers and traditional tilak ceremony elated the emotions of newly admitted students.

The ceremony started with lighting of lamp before Mother Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge and wisdom by Dr Sandeep Arora, Chancellor, Dr.Sandeep Gandhi, Registrar and Dr.Asha Ambhaikar, Dean Student Welfare and other senior Professors followed by Saraswati Vandna by the senior students of the University.

Registrar Dr.Sandeep Gandhi welcomed the newly admitted students in his opening speech and explained about the regulatory status of the University and its growing position, now on the top among the universities of Chhattisgarh. He added that the university is committed to ensure the quality education with the regular industry interaction, not only from Chhattisgarh but across India. Dr.Gandhi told that the university is already the member of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to forge strong relationships with industry. He added that the University is committed for the excellence not only in academics but in all the areas of sports, culture and fine arts for the holistic development of the students.

In his address, Chancellor, Dr. Sandeep Arora urged the students to make the best utilization of their university years and assured them for providing quality education and the best placement support. He shared about all the prestigious approvals to fabricate strong academic partnerships with reputed educational institutions of India and overseas. Mrs. ShradhaChaudhary shared the necessary information about the university. HoD Biotechnology Dr. Sushma Dubey and HoD Applied Sciences Dr. Shilpi Srivastava briefed about their respective departments. Singing and dance activities were also being performed by the senior students between the address sessions.

The senior students and staff members mingled with the new students in such a way that they felt just like family members with a feeling of elder and younger brothers and sisters. This congenial behavior by seniors removed the fear of ragging and other misconducts from the fresher students. All the respective heads shared the information related to their domain to support the students during their academic session such as coalition with CII’s Young Indians Program, NCC,NSS, Air Wing and many others. Incharge Academic affairs Mr. Rahul Mishra, University Coordinator Ms Gausiya Khatoom, Library in charge Ms. Priyanka Patel, Transport in charge Mr. Manish Singh, Training and Placement Officer Mr. Arup Haldar, Sports, NSS & Games InchargeMr. SanjeevYadav, NCC incharge Mrs. TriptiChandrakar shared the related information with the students.

 

Quiz activities were also conducted for new students and prizes were distributed to winning teams. All the queries of the students were answered. Students enjoyed the program and felt satisfied and relaxed to be the part of Kalinga University. Tug of war and other games were organised in the greenery sprawled ground followed by twists on dhol sound.

Lastly the vote of thanks was rendered by Dr. Asha Ambhaikar, Dean Student Welfare  and students departed with music masti  and sharing their contact numbers with each other.
