Toyota Etios Motor Racing Announces New Driver Selection for its Third Racing Legin 2015

Online registration opens for driver selection camps to be held in April 2015

 After two very successful Etios Motor Racing (EMR) seasons in 2013 and 2014, Toyota Kirloskar Motor today announced the opening of its online registration application for new driver selection for the third EMR season in 2015. Initial online registration for the event will commence immediately on www.toyotaetiosmotorracing.in. Drivers in the age-group of 15 to 28 & 29 yrs & above can apply for the same. Previous racing experience will be an advantage.

After the first round of online application selection, on ground driver selection will take place in May through a Go Karting round followed by final selection in the EMR car at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. Drivers with previous EMR experience will be given a direct entry into the final selection round. Participants would be evaluated on various parameters like driving skill, physical fitness, and consistency in lap times.

The Go-karting round is a part of selection process that would be conducted by N Leelakrishnan who is a six-time INRC Motor Rally Champion and one time Formula 3 (India) champion and an ace driver himself, along with guest evaluators who are veterans of the motorsport field.

Speaking more on the occasion, Mr. Akitoshi Takemura, Senior Vice President- Toyota Planning & Strategy Group & Senior Managing Coordinator, Toyota Sales Group, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “After two successful seasons of Etios Motor Racing in India, we are delighted to open the driver selection for the new season. We have seen some very good talent in the previous seasons and we are excited to get some fresh talent onboard this season. Moreover, as an endeavor to encourage more participation from women, selected lady drivers will get a 50% waiver on the registration fees.

With an intention to initiate racing at a grass root level in India and by giving young motor sport talent a platform to nurture their talent, EMR has come a long way and we look forward to a brand new season in 2015”.
