Held every year, Communika, 2015 is the 7th edition, first being organized in the year 2007. This year there were a total of 13 competitions which basically aimed to bring about talents in the field of communication ranging from folk media, art related competition to mainstream print and electronic media. Around 35 institutes participated in this annual fest where some participants were above 60 years and some just 16.

Inaugurated by Dr. Hari Prasad Sarma, Rector Gauhati University, Communika, 2015 was remarkable in many ways.

Led by Ankur Hazarika, a student of Government College of Art and Craft undertook the magnificent job of installing art work with waste material. He was assisted by his team members – Alvis Ranjan Pathak, Zubeen Ahmed, Rishika Dutta, Hritick Rahman, Rajib Das, Suman Das, Harchit Dutta and Bhargav Das.

Sand animation by Diganta Madhab Goswami on the concluding day of the event  captivated the attention of the witnessing crowd like never before.  The artist presented the history of human evolution and appealed through his art to conserve and respect the environment. Moreover, Dipak Sarma, a prominent flutist enthralled the audience with his flute performance on the occasion.

But the main attraction of the cultural night evening was the outstanding performance by the students of Gauhati Blind School. Trained by teacher, Hemo Kalita, Singers Popi Devi, Puravi Talukdar, Dolly Rajbonshi and Shaid Afridi rocked the show with their stunning voice.
