The modernization of our lifestyle and the hectic busy schedule has restricted most of us to look beyond the cocoon and to think about those who need our help and support. But negotiating all these issues NEEDS (North Eastern Economical Development Society) a registered NGO recently organized a cultural event at Shradhanjali Kanan on 21st of February which was especially dedicated to orphanage and old age home. The event was named ASHA: slogan of which was Hope Beyond Horizon.
The event was attended by many well known and prominent singers of the state which includes Queen Hazarika, Barnali Kalita, Bhitali Das, Arohan Bordoloi, J.P Das and many more.
The event also further witnessed a noble initiative by the organizers in which some non-professional models hailing from different fields of activity were provided an opportunity to walk down the ramp and to showcase their talent as well.
Meanwhile, the founder of NEEDS Amardeep Paul, launched Northeast’s first ever corporate calendar in the presence of noted Assamese actors Utpal Das, Barasha Rani Bishaya, Chetana Das and many other eminent personalities.
After the felicitation of Aitas, of an old age home with Japi, Phulam Gamusa and a gift of honour, the event became more happening with the mesmerizing collection of attires designed by two well known designers –Meghna Rai Medhi and Prashantt Ghosh.
Meanwhile, the excitement of the gathering came to a halt when the unexpected rain poured over the event. But the organizers buckled up and continued with the further event with full enthusiasm.
“From the beginning of my career I always believed in social cause and I personally feel the pain of the orphans and elders of old age home who are neglected by the society and sometimes from the family as well. So it was just a small initiative to bring a smile on their face and spend a delightful evening which can make their life enjoyable for a moment”, says Amardeep Paul, Founder of NEEDS.
He further added,”We at NEEDS have been working for controlling the ill effects of continuous price hike which is the major issue to the society and our initiative of Customer Care Card is one of the gifts for the people of the North Eastern Region and for the entire nation as well. On the coming days NEEDS will take many more initiatives like this and will always be there for the good of the society ”
