>>A journey of ups and downs, you have risen to the top with so many successful films to your name. How has this Journey been for you?

Ans: Ohh… what can I say… my birth place is Kanpur, UP and my work place is Mumbai, Maharashtra, both have given me a lot in my life. I consider it a very good journey as I have learnt a lot from it. I have started my career at a very young age and this industry accepted me and my work. After the success of Sun Raha Hai and Galiiyan now I have few other projects in my bag. I have lots of responsibilities.

>>You are a natural singer, was singing always on the charts for you? How did you get into this field?

Ans: I was never a singer. I started my career as Tabla Player in my school. Then I learnt Harmonium and then Piano. At the age of 14 I started learning Indian Classical from my Guru Pt. Vinod Kumar Dwivedi. I also started going with my parents to their Bhajan Sandhya’s and started singing there. After few years when I started singing my own scratches to present it to the directors they took it so seriously and asked me to sing for their films.

>>Who has been your support throughout? What were the difficulties you had faced?

Ans: My brother, Ankur Tiwari of course. He has been my spine throughout my life started from Kanpur to Mumbai. He is the only person who shared my struggle with the smile on his face. In the time of your struggle you cannot expect bed of roses for you. It will not make you strong. Same happened with me.

>>What were the inhibitions and insecurities which you went through when you had first entered this glamorous world?

Ans: I was prepared for the worst before entering to the glamour world. I have seen all the aspects of life. The only thing matters for me are my loyalty towards my family and work. I was just insecure about the level of my work as my competition was tough.

>>What does success mean to you?

Ans: It makes you responsible towards your life.

>>Any advice to the upcoming singers?

Ans: Work hard and party harder.

>> What is it that you simply detest about being a public figure? Is there something you could change?

Ans: Yes, certainly… why not. If you follow good practices in your life your fans will follow the same.

>>What are your future plans? What’s in the pipeline?
Ans: I am little busy these days with the projects like Do, Yaara, Yara Silly Silly, Mr. X, Roy, Khamoshiyan, Alone, Lag Gayi Luck Ki, Badtameez Dil, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Tu He Mera etc.

>> Thank you Ankit for having such a wonderful conversation with us, the entire team of The Mileage congratulates you for your achievements in the Bollywood industry.

Ans: Well thanks a lot Zulfeekar, the pleasure is all mine.
